Carl Kleiner

Carl Kleiner is based in Stockholm, his impossibly bright, sharply cast still-life’s have penetrated the darkness of your existence (and you are all the better for it). In the past few years, his eye for golden-ratio compositions that set inanimate objects in dramatic contrast to block colours, light and each other have elevated these random items to sculptural status.

Laura Letinsky

Laura Letinsky is a fine art still life photographer whose painterly images make use of natural light to highlight spare form and color. Her unusual approach to her imagemaking  often features food in varying states of ripeness, and subjects often show signs of being overhandled or nearly used up. I began to think about the idea of leftovers. It became important for me on a number of levels, because it has to do with what you do after the promise, when you realize the promise is not possible. This is fundamental to any utopian notion--the promise and its demise. You can't have utopia without its loss.
